# Find leads

> Describe the businesses you want. Your agent finds them and brings back their phone numbers and emails.

Find leads is the first tab on **Leads**. You describe the kind of business you
want to reach — "real-estate developers in Pune", "dental clinics in Bengaluru" —
and an agent finds them and brings back their phone numbers and email addresses. The people who came to *your*
agents are on the second tab, [Inbound leads](/agent/leads).

## Find your first leads

<Steps>
  <Step title="Describe the businesses">
    Open **Leads**. Type who you want to reach, or start from one of the
    examples. Add a place: "in Pune" finds far better than "developers".
  </Step>

  <Step title="Answer one question, if it asks">
    A broad request ("builders") gets one question with a few answers to tick —
    which city, what kind. Tick, add your own, or skip it.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose how many and start">
    The agent shows what it will look for. Pick 25, 50, 100, 250 or 500 leads and
    **Start search**. Before it starts you see the most the search can cost.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Watch them arrive">
    The chat on the left shows each search the agent runs; the table on the right
    fills in as leads are found. You can leave the page — the search carries on —
    and **Stop** it whenever you like.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Ask for more, or something different

After a search, just talk to the agent in the box under the chat.

* **"2 more"**, **"20 more please"**, **"keep going"** — it searches again for
  different businesses and adds them to the same table, up to 500 leads in a
  search. You only pay for the new leads.
* **"Only the ones with an email"**, **"now in Mumbai"**, **"also include
  orthodontists"** — it changes the search and starts the next one in the same chat.
* **"Interior designers in Hyderabad"** — a different search, in the same chat.
* Say how many in the same message — **"10 dentists in Pune"** — and it starts
  straight away.

Your earlier searches stay in the chat, each with a **View leads** button that
brings its table back. **Back to new search** (the arrow beside **Leads**) starts a
fresh chat.

## What you get for each lead

A row in the table: the business, its website, phone, email, location and what
kind of business it is.

* **Only what the website itself prints.** A number or email is included only if
  it is on the business's own page. The link beside the website opens that exact
  page, so you can check any of them.
* **The business's public details, not a person's.** Expect a main line, a sales
  number, a toll-free number or a general address such as `info@` — not the direct
  number of a named person.
* **More than one number or email?** The first is shown, with **+2** or similar;
  hover it to see the rest.

## What it costs

* **₹1 for each lead** (one cent if your workspace is billed in dollars), taken
  from your balance. No GST is added.
* **The first 50 leads are free** — in your workspace's first month of Find leads,
  counted from your first search. They are counted per workspace and per person.
* **You only pay for a lead:** a business with a phone number or email on its own
  website that you don't already have. Sites that were not a match, sites with no
  contact details, businesses already in your contacts and businesses an earlier
  search found are never charged.
* **When the balance runs out,** the search pauses. Add money and press
  **Continue**. A workspace with no balance — the free trial — is asked to choose a
  plan once its free leads are used.

The price is also on each plan card in **Settings → Billing**.

## Do something with them

Tick the leads you want, then:

* **Save to Contacts** — they become contacts in your workspace, and go into a
  [group](/agent/leads#groups) you choose or create.
* **Send WhatsApp** — saves them to a group and opens a
  [broadcast](/whatsapp/broadcasts) already aimed at it.
* **Call with an Agent** — saves them to a group and opens a
  [calling campaign](/channels/voice-campaigns) already aimed at it.

Saving asks you to confirm that **contacting these businesses is your
responsibility**. These businesses have not asked to hear from you, so read the
next section before you send anything.

## Before you contact them

* **Calls.** Calling businesses that have not asked to be called is covered by
  India's telemarketing rules, including Do Not Disturb. Your calling campaign
  still respects calling hours and your do-not-contact list; the rules themselves
  are yours to follow.
* **WhatsApp.** WhatsApp expects people to have opted in. A broadcast to found
  businesses is allowed, but complaints and blocks lower your WhatsApp account's
  quality rating and can get it limited. Send only what they would expect from a
  business like yours.
* **Anyone who says stop is never contacted again,** on any campaign, whichever
  way they were found.

## Save a search, run it again

On a finished search, **Save search** gives it a name and keeps it at the top of
the start screen under **Saved searches**. **History** lists your recent
searches. **Run again** repeats a search: businesses you already have come back as
duplicates and are not charged, so a rerun pays only for new ones.

## Limits

* One search at a time in a workspace, and 30 a day.
* Up to 500 leads a search. A search ends early if it is finding nothing, and says
  so.
* Businesses in India.
* Leads stay in your workspace. They are not in the Contacts download or in the
  contacts API.

## Not available yet

* Workspaces of a white-label client, and customers of a developer: their usage is
  billed through somebody else, and this is not part of that yet.
* Finding leads from the API or the MCP server.
* Repeating a saved search automatically every week.
