# Business verification

> What it unlocks, what it costs you in time, and what stays locked without it.

Meta verifies that your business is a real, registered entity. Several things
you will want are gated behind it, and the wait is measured in days rather than
minutes — so start it early.

## What it unlocks

  **Forms are the one that surprises people.** You can build a form, store it and
  preview it perfectly. Meta will not *publish* a flow for an unverified
  business, and an unpublished form reaches no customer — so the feature looks
  finished and does nothing.

## What Meta asks for

Broadly: a legal business name that matches official documents, a business
address, a phone number or website that can be checked, and a document proving
the entity exists — in India typically a GST certificate, Certificate of
Incorporation, or a utility bill in the business name.

The single most common cause of rejection is a **mismatch**: the name on your
Meta business portfolio differing, even slightly, from the name on the document.
Match them exactly, including the `Pvt Ltd` or `LLP` suffix.

## How long

Days, occasionally longer. Meta may ask for more documents, which restarts the
clock.

  Start verification on day one, before you need any of what it unlocks. It runs
  in the background while you build everything else, and nothing about it gets
  faster by waiting.

## Connecting your number

<Warning>
  **Attaching your own WhatsApp number is something we run with you, not
  something you self-serve today.**

  Everything else on WhatsApp works. This one step needs approvals from Meta
  that are still in progress on our side. Talk to us and we will do the
  onboarding — it is not a long process, it is just not a button yet.

## While you wait

None of this blocks the parts of the product that matter most:

Get the agent answering well on those first. A verified WhatsApp number attached
to an agent that cannot answer your customers' questions is the wrong order to
do this in.
